🇺🇦🇳🇱 Trade Mission for Economic Recovery and the Development of Ukrainian-Dutch Partnership

The Netherlands — Ukraine | Westland • The Hague • Hengelo • Gouda

NL-UA REBIRTH OF UKRAINE Trade Mission is an international business mission aimed at developing economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands, identifying new partners, attracting technologies and investment, and finding practical solutions to support Ukraine’s economic recovery.

The mission will bring together representatives of Ukrainian businesses, municipalities, local authorities, Dutch companies, investors, business organizations, and experts.

Special attention will be given to horticulture, greenhouse technologies, vertical farming, the food industry, innovation, sustainable production, and the development of international business partnerships.

🎯 Mission Objectives

The main objective is to create a practical platform for developing Ukrainian-Dutch economic cooperation and launching new projects that can contribute to Ukraine’s recovery.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

establish direct contacts with Dutch companies and organizations;
identify potential partners for joint projects;
explore advanced agricultural technologies;
visit innovative companies and production facilities;
take part in B2B meetings and presentations;
explore funding opportunities for Ukrainian-Dutch projects;
discuss the development of municipal and regional partnerships;
gain practical experience relevant to the recovery of Ukraine’s agricultural and food sectors.

🌱 Westland — A Global Horticulture Hub

One of the mission’s central locations will be Westland — one of the world’s leading hubs for greenhouse horticulture, innovative agricultural technologies, and the Greenport ecosystem.

Participants will explore the complete modern horticulture value chain — from cultivation technologies and greenhouse systems to packaging, logistics, trade, knowledge, and innovation.

The program will include visits to World Horti Center, TOMATOWORLD, Dutch greenhouse technology manufacturers, and other representatives of the agricultural and food sectors.

🤝 Business & B2B Cooperation

A key component of the mission will be direct dialogue between Ukrainian and Dutch companies.

The program will include:

B2B meetings;
business networking;
presentations by Ukrainian and Dutch companies;
pitch sessions;
search for importers, partners, and investors;
discussion of joint investment projects;
identification of technological solutions for Ukrainian businesses;
development of new international partnerships.

🏛 Municipal and Regional Partnership

A separate focus of the mission will be cooperation between Ukrainian and Dutch municipalities.

Ukrainian mayors and representatives of local authorities will have the opportunity to meet with their Dutch counterparts and discuss local governance models, community development, education, vocational training, innovation, and the implementation of joint projects.

The program will also include an introduction to the work and practices of the municipalities of Westland, The Hague, Hengelo, and Gouda.

💶 Funding and Support Instruments

During the mission, participants will learn about Dutch government and partnership instruments designed to support cooperation with Ukraine.

In particular, the program will include presentations on opportunities available through RVO and the Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF), as well as practical examples of Dutch-Ukrainian projects.

Day 1 — Hengelo

Introduction to the Twente Region and Dutch Business

Arrival and working meeting in Hengelo.
Meeting with representatives of the World Trade Center Twente.
Presentations by Dutch companies and their proposals for cooperation with Ukraine.
Meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the Mayor of Hengelo, Sander Schelberg.
Discussion of prospects for municipal partnership and potential twinning cooperation.
Presentation by the regional development agency Oost NL and opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian development agencies.
Visit to the agro-industrial company Farmax.
Visit to the XL Business Park industrial park.

Day 2 — Westland / Gouda

AgriTech, Greenhouse Technologies and Municipal Partnership

Visit to TOMATOWORLD — an information and educational center for greenhouse horticulture.
Introduction to modern and sustainable growing methods.
Exploration of innovations and the ecosystem of the Dutch horticulture cluster.
B2B networking with potential partners for Ukrainian businesses.
Working meeting in Gouda between the Mayor of Zhytomyr and the Mayor of Gouda.
Discussion of cooperation in education, vocational training and exchange of experience.
Visit to KUBO — one of the leading manufacturers of greenhouse systems.
Introduction to Venlo and Ultra Clima technologies, the full-cycle cultivation concept and Smart Growing.
Presentation of solutions using alternative heat and energy sources, including waste heat, geothermal energy, solar energy and biofermentation.

Day 3 — Westland / The Hague

Municipal Governance, Food Industry and International Cooperation

Visit to the Municipality of Westland.
Introduction to the municipality’s operations and the local governance system.
Presentation of Westland as one of the world’s key centers of greenhouse horticulture.
Introduction to the complete horticulture value chain — from seeds and cultivation to packaging, transportation and trade.
Visit to Raaskal Foodcreators & Development.
Introduction to modern food production — from large-scale manufacturing to small-batch production and production services for startups.
Participation of Ukrainian mayors in the “Local to Local Co-Creation” seminar at Leiden University in The Hague.
Discussion of the principles of Good Governance and the parameters of effective Ukraine–Netherlands/EU cooperation.
Meeting with representatives of The Hague City Council.
Discussion of international cooperation and support for Ukraine.
Separate visit by representatives of Dobroslav to the Rosarium of The Hague to develop cooperation in the field of rose cultivation.

Day 4 — The Hague

NL-UA Economic Recovery Promotion Business Forum

The key event of the trade mission — the Business Forum “The Netherlands–Ukraine Cooperation Vision”.

Key areas:

Ukraine’s economic recovery;
Ukrainian-Dutch economic partnership;
international trade;
investment;
technological cooperation;
recovery and reconstruction of Ukrainian communities;
project presentations;
networking and B2B communication.

The forum will serve as a platform for meetings between Ukrainian and Dutch representatives of businesses, municipalities, organizations and potential partners.

Day 5 — World Horti Center, Westland

April 26

B2B Networking Day

The final day of the mission’s official program will take place at the World Horti Center.

Morning Session:

Dutch Government Instruments Facilitating Dutch–Ukrainian Partnerships

government instruments supporting cooperation with Ukraine;
Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF);
examples of projects supported by the UPF;
practical experience of Agrico;
Q&A on the implementation of Dutch-Ukrainian projects;
opportunities to find partners for joint projects.

Presentations by Ukrainian and Dutch companies.

Visit to Delphy

Introduction to an independent company that develops and implements knowledge and technologies in the fields of:

fruit and vegetables;
greenhouse production;
open-field cultivation;
soft fruit;
modern horticulture technologies.

Special attention will be given to opportunities for new government-to-business and business-to-business cooperation with Ukraine aimed at supporting the recovery of the agricultural sector.

Additional Cultural and Familiarization Program

After the official part of the mission, participants visited:

Amsterdam;
Keukenhof;
the Dutch coast;
a small traditional cheese farm.

This part of the program was dedicated to learning about the culture, traditions and tourism potential of the Netherlands.
