Study Tour for Moldovan Berry Association to Poland
ALLE FOOD UA develops agri-solutions services and organizes training programs, B2B meetings and trade missions aimed at supporting producers and strengthening international cooperation.
As part of this work, ALLE FOOD UA, together with Info Agro Agency and with the support of USAID Moldova, organized a study tour for Moldovan berry producers in Poland on the topic
“Technologies of Cultivation and Post-Harvest Processing of Raspberries, Blackberries and Blackcurrants.”
The tour brought together producers, industry experts and technology partners to exchange knowledge in berry cultivation, post-harvest handling and modern processing solutions.
The program included a series of practical visits to production facilities, berry farms and technology enterprises in Poland, where participants explored innovative approaches to:
- tunnel berry cultivation
- mechanized harvesting
- post-harvest handling and freezing
- modern berry processing technologies
Special focus was given to protected cultivation technologies by Haygrove, mechanized harvesting solutions from Jagoda.pl, and advanced freezing technologies by OctoFrost.
Participants also gained valuable insights from leading berry industry experts, including representatives of 4Berries, InHort Institute of Horticulture, OctoFrost, Haygrove, and other sector partners.
The trainers for the Berry Tour were experienced experts in the berry market:
- Krzysztof Sak (Agronom Plants / Agronom Berries, 4Berries)
- Stanisław Pluta (Department of Breeding, Institute of Horticulture, Skierniewice)
- Professor Stanisław Kaniszewski (Deputy Director for Research, Institute of Horticulture, Skierniewice)
- Professor Agnieszka Masny (Head of the Breeding Department) and Joanna Puławska (Department of Plant Protection)
- Anna Dies (Octofrost)
The experts provided a wealth of useful and interesting information regarding the cultivation and post-harvest processing technologies for raspberries, blackberries, and blackcurrants.
Visits also took place to
- Мarek Yamry (Hygrowe) – production facilities of Haygrove company: tunnels for growing berries, blackberry production,
- A visit to the office and park of garden machinery of the JAGODA JPS Agro machines company review of berry harvesters and cutters.pl
- Konrad Kazakiewicz Farmer specializing in raspberry and strawberry production
- Piotr Figura, Gospodarstwo Rolne Figura, Poland.
The study tour once again confirmed that success can be planned when knowledge, innovation, technology and international cooperation come together.
Organizing such initiatives is part of ALLE FOOD UA’s ongoing work to support agricultural development, knowledge exchange and stronger international partnerships.
We thank USAID Moldova and Info Agro Agency for their cooperation in advancing the berry sector and international collaboration.
